Frequently asked questions

 A.      Its not hard to master the basics of hyro-sports, it generally takes first time flyers approximately 10 minutes to get out of the water and flying around. However we have seen some people pick it up instantly. If you have had any experience with other types of board sports you will find it comparatively easier and you will be up and flying in no time. Follow the instructions of your instructor as this will fast track how quickly you learn.

A.      Yes, you must be over 12 years of age to fly.

A.      There is 120 Kg weight restriction to use any of HydroFly's equipment.

A.      YES! but like other adventure and extreme sports hydro-sports do have some elements of danger. Particularly as we build on some core base skills and teach you through some of the more advanced extreme stunts and aero-aquabatics. But don’t be put off yet! As a first time flyer you are in excellent hands, all of our instructors have gone through an instructor training program that trains them in all aspects of teaching others to fly. Safety is our number one priority! As a beginner you will go through a in-depth briefing session before you fly; in this briefing you will be instructed about a number of key skills and safety components required throughout your experience.

 Some of these included are:

  • How to fly safely.
  • How to fall safely.
  • Signals to communicate with the instructor on the jet ski.
  • Most of all – How to get out of the water, fly and have an unbelievable experience!

As a first time flyer your instructor wont take you higher than 2 meters until they see that understand the basic principle of Flying. All HydroFlyers MUST wear all the safety gear provided, including a helmet.

A.      You can fly up to 15 meters high but as a first time flyer we wont take you higher than 2-3 meters. This may not seem like much but even 2 meters feels high when you have never flown before. As you learn the fundamentals of flight, we will work with you to teach you more advanced maneouvres. Some of these require more speed and height. Each person is different, and learns differently. Our instructors are trained to adapt to your learning abilities, ensuring your comfort is maintained at all times.

A.      It's INDESCRIBABLE! Hydro-sports are as close as you will get to unassisted flight, you feel like a Super Hero. Unleash your inner hero!®

A.      Generally no. But this does depend on your fitness level. If you have a sedentary lifestyle you might find your muscles will be a little stiff or fatigued the next day, similar to that of doing other moderate exercise or activities.

A.      All safety gear is provided, this includes:

 

  • PFD (personal floatation device/life jacket)
  • Approved helmet

Make sure you bring:

  • Swimmers
  • Sunscreen
  • Towel
  • Drinking water
  • Wetsuit if required

 

A.      In the event of bad weather HydroFly will attempt to call, sms, or email you to advise of any bookings cancellations. We operate in most weather conditions including wind and rain. Booking cancellations due to bad weather will be at our sole discretion. All booking changes must be made 48 Hours prior to your experiences commencement date, failure to do so will incur a $50 change of booking fee should we need to reschedule you for another date or time on the day. Changes to bookings will not be deemed as accepted until payment has been made.
A.      We do not provide refunds for change of mind or arising medical conditions inhibiting a participants ability to attend their experience. All customers whom agree to undertake the experience confirm they are of physical sound health and able to complete their purchased experience. However we can provide you with an alternative booking date or time. Transferring of attending participants may be changed at any time. We require minimum 48 hours notice before the commencement date of your booking for any bookings and for any change of booking dates or times. All booking changes made after this will incur a $50 change of booking fee per participant. Or forfeit the cost of your experience. No refund are provided on gift card purchases.

A.      All bookings require attendance 15 minutes prior to your experiences starting time. This enables us to meet and greet customers, complete any required paperwork, issue you with your safety equipment inclusive of life jacket and helmet and complete a pre-flight safety briefing and instruction. Late arrivals will forfeit time required of their experience due to the allocation of time and back-to-back bookings schedules. Should you be running late on the day please call 0435 326 352.

All customers are required to sign a Disclaimer prior to undertaking any experience. By signing the Disclaimer you forfeit certain legal rights.

A.      We operate Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays, All School Holidays and 7 Days for group bookings. Our availability is strictly by bookings in advance which enables us to provide our customers with exceptional valued packages.
